There is not one system, entity, or material item that accounts for all. I believe “fate” and “destiny” are concepts developed from a human need to understand the world. These are terms that align with magical thinking and with a spiritual or religious outlook. I am not a devout skeptic, but often, the concepts of “fate” and “destiny” are linked to less-than-ideal or horrible people and events.
